Health has underscored that cancer continues to pose a serious public health challenge in Sierra Leone, with more than 5,000 cases recorded since 2015.

Of these, 3,156 patients are female and 1,955 are male, with breast and prostate cancers accounting for the majority of reported cases.

The Ministry emphasized that early detection, timely treatment, and strong community support are crucial in saving lives and improving outcomes for cancer patients.

The Ministry of Health called on all Sierra Leoneans to be vigilant about cancer symptoms, seek early screening, and support ongoing efforts to strengthen cancer care across the country.
