Sierra Leone’s Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie, has arrived in Manama for a three-day working visit to strengthen educational cooperation between Sierra Leone and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Wurie is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Bahrain’s Minister of Education, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Mubarak Juma, focusing on vocational training, digitization of higher education, joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and academic conferences to strengthen institutional linkages.

The visit aims to establish a framework for long-term partnerships. Dr. Wurie and her delegation will also meet other Bahraini educational institutions to explore strategies for improving access to quality learning and advancing innovative higher education policies.

Upon arrival, senior Bahraini officials, including His Excellency Ing Hithim Issa Abdallah Al Sahlie, Assistant Undersecretary for Corporate Services, received Dr. Wurie, along with Sierra Leone’s Non-resident Ambassador to Bahrain, Her Excellency Haja Ishata Thomas, and Third Secretary and Arabic Translator Mr. Abu Bakarr Ismail Mbayoh.

The visit underscores Sierra Leone’s commitment to fostering global educational partnerships that promote innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable development. Both nations are expected to issue a joint communiqué outlining areas of cooperation and future initiatives.
