30 young talents from across Sierra Leone are taking bold steps toward becoming champions of peace and social cohesion through the arts in an inspiring fusion of creativity and civic engagement.

The #CreativesForPeace workshop, a collaborative initiative between Nallo Jr. Arts Academy and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Sierra Leone is empowering a new generation of creatives to use their talents in music, art, fashion, and storytelling as vehicles for peacebuilding and trade advocacy.

Held in Sierra Leone, the workshop brings together aspiring and emerging artists for an intensive training programme focused on harnessing creative expression to foster dialogue, promote unity, and drive community-led change.
“Art speaks where words fail.

Through this initiative, we’re equipping young creatives not only with skills but with purpose to be the voices of peace in their communities,” said UNDP Representative’s, speaking on behalf of UNDP Sierra Leone.
The programme explores how cultural expression can be a powerful tool in addressing post-conflict tensions, building bridges across communities, and stimulating local economic development through creative industries.

Participants are learning how to create content with impact, engage audiences around messages of tolerance and unity, and explore avenues for sustainable creative entrepreneurship.

The workshop also emphasizes the role of trade and economic opportunity in sustaining peace, encouraging creatives to consider their art as both a social and economic asset. Our vision is to see young creatives become not just artists, but advocates shaping narratives that heal, inspire, and unite,” said Alex Nallo Jr, founder of Nallo Jr. Arts Academy.

As Sierra Leone continues its journey toward inclusive development, initiatives like #CreativesForPeace highlight the crucial role of youth and culture in shaping a peaceful and prosperous future.
The workshop will conclude with a showcase of original works created by participants a powerful reminder that peace can be painted, sung, worn, and told.
