The Government of Sierra Leone, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), hosted the 4th Annual Youth and Adolescent Conference on Family Planning at the Bintumani International Conference Center.

The event brought together young people, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to engage in crucial discussions aimed at empowering youth to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.

The conference featured expert-led sessions, youth-driven workshops, and innovative exhibitions, all designed to provide participants with the knowledge and tools needed to take control of their reproductive health.

Key topics included access to contraceptives, understanding sexual health rights, and strategies to reduce the rates of teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections in Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, government officials emphasized the importance of investing in youth to ensure a healthier future for the nation.

They acknowledged the critical role of family planning in breaking barriers that often prevent young people from achieving their full potential.
