The youth envoy of Sierra Leone, Amb. Yulisa Ahmadu , the ministry of Youth affairs Sierra Leone and the Sierra Leone High commission Uk , is set to host the second edition of the Sierra Leone Diaspora Youth Summit on November 14th, 2024, in London.

Following the success of the maiden edition held in the United States earlier this year, this event promises to continue fostering engagement with Sierra Leonean youth in the diaspora while creating a platform for growth and collaboration.

The summit, which previously brought together Sierra Leonean youths in the United States, will now extend to the United Kingdom, providing a unique opportunity for Sierra Leonean youth to engage with the international business landscape.

The event aims to inform participants about business opportunities back home, forge connections with investors and mentors, and inspire the next generation of Sierra Leonean entrepreneurs.

Notable keynote speakers include Dr. David Sengeh, Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, and His Worship Eddie Hanson, Deputy Mayor of the London Borough of Camden.

The summit will also feature guest speakers such as HE Asmaa James, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador to Belgium, Hon. Sidi Tunnis, former ECOWAS Speaker, Ambassador Junior Navo, CEO of AYV Media Empire, and Mohamed Orman Bangura, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Youth Affairs.

The gathering is expected to attract a mix of young aspiring entrepreneurs, established business leaders, and government officials.

Participants will have the chance to gain insights from experts in various fields, explore international business ventures, and strengthen ties with influential figures in Sierra Leone’s development space.

The summit will also witness the launch of the Sierra Leone Young Professionals Forum portal. A portal dedicated to registering skilled young professionals living overseas whose skills and expertise can be beneficial towards nation building. This is meant to bridge the brain drain gab in Sierra Leone and to promote HE the President’s vision of radical inclusion of young people

The second edition of the Sierra Leone Diaspora Youth Summit is poised to serve as a bridge between young talents in the diaspora and the rapidly growing opportunities in Sierra Leone, continuing the mission of fostering collaboration and building a brighter future for the nation’s youth.
