The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, on Friday, October 17, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the National Youth Service (NYS) as part of his ongoing engagement with institutions under his ministry.
Upon arrival, Minister Sannoh was warmly received by the Executive Director of NYS, Onanah Jalloh, along with members of the board and staff, who expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit and his continued support to the institution.
In his address, Minister Sannoh emphasized that his visit was not to praise or criticize anyone, but to encourage and motivate the NYS management and staff. He highlighted the importance of unity and teamwork in achieving the institution’s goals, stating that “a house divided against itself will not stand.”


The Minister underscored the need for collective effort and mutual respect within the workplace to ensure the continued success of the NYS. He also reminded the team that public service is a call to serve, not a position of permanence, adding, “We are here to serve; nothing is permanent.”
Minister Sannoh commended the NYS staff, board members, and especially the volunteers for their tireless contributions to national development and youth empowerment.
In response, Executive Director Onanah Jalloh expressed gratitude to the Minister for his visit and words of encouragement, assuring him of the institution’s commitment to maintaining professionalism, discipline, and dedication in carrying out its mandate.
The visit was widely seen as a strong gesture of leadership and collaboration, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening youth-focused institutions and ensuring that the NYS continues to play a vital role in shaping Sierra Leone’s next generation of leaders.
