The Freetown City Council (FCC) has received 40 three-hundred-litre dustbins from WAICA Re to support its ongoing waste management campaign, #DortiMusGo, aimed at promoting cleaner and healthier communities across the city.
Freetown Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr expressed appreciation to WAICA Re for the donation, describing it as a timely and valuable contribution towards improving sanitation in the municipality.

According to the Mayor, the dustbins will be distributed to 20 municipal schools, with each school receiving two bins to encourage proper waste disposal and create cleaner learning environments for pupils and staff.
She added that regular waste collection services will be organised to ensure that waste generated from the beneficiary schools is properly managed and disposed of.

Mayor Aki-Sawyerr also encouraged residents to register with Freetown City Council-approved waste service providers, stressing that collective action is essential in maintaining a clean and healthy city.
The donation forms part of ongoing efforts under the FCC’s #TransformFreetown agenda to improve sanitation, environmental management, and the overall quality of life for residents.
