If what The Exclusive has gathered from the grapevine is anything to go by, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) will likely, any time soon, net in yet another big fish from the All Peoples Congress (APC).

Credible sources have intimated to this press that the former Minister of Internal Affairs in the erstwhile Ernest Bai Koroma-led administration may. Ishmael Sengu Koroma is up for the grab by the SLPP and there is the likelihood that he would. be appointed to a top position in the current administration.

When The Exclusive contacted Maj. Sengu Koroma for his comment at the Babadori Voter Registration Center where he went to register, all said was, “I am a patriotic Sierra Leonean, willing to serve my country anytime the need arises.

If it happens, I would consider it a national call. I only came to register my right to vote and I am jetting back to the states this week.
It could be recalled that major Sengu Koroma was a one-time presidential flagbearer aspirant for the SLPP. He however lost the flagbearer position to the current President and later pitched tents with the APC and was appointed Minister by former President Koroma; a position he reportedly served with distinction.

It is not yet known whether he is about to make a homecoming to the SLPP or if it is only going to be a call to national duty.

Major Sengu Koroma has a wealth of security background as he has served the United States Army for the longest time. As former Internal Affairs Minister, he adequately presided over his toric change of government in the 2018 national elections without much fracas as all security apps ratus were intact.

Like Alhaji Alpha Khan, he is another political heavyweight that may shift political grounds should he be appointed to any position by the current president
