It’s apparent that if Dr Samura Kamara succeeds in becoming the next President of Sierra Leone come June 24, he certainly needs someone like Hon. Chericoco as Vice President and the reasons behind these realistic assertions are so glaringly visible to even the blind.

For instance, Dr Samura Kamara is a renowned technocrat and a seasoned financial administrator with a unique experience in governance and prudent financial management which no one can take from him.

He has a wide range of networks with the international community and development partners. As a refined leader, Kamara has an unblemished character whose love by the masses cuts across all tribes and ages.

In a related way that can better fit the leadership qualities is Hon. Chericoco with a wealth of legislative experience in governance tied up with rich experience in party and cross-party politicking with untainted character and a provable leadership record. He’s as compassionate as Dr Samura cherished, accepted, tolerant, and religious too.

Despite having related governance experience, they both possess conventional religious tolerance. Dr Samura Kamara is a devoted Christian with reasonable respect for Muslims while  Chericoco is a devoted Muslim with an open-door policy for Christians.

Samura Kamara and Chericoco have amassed huge support from the grassroots of the party and also enjoyed a cemented love from the grassroots as faithful loyalists of the All People’s Congress Party.

The two are undiluted and inseparable technocrats in nation-building.

Any other combination with Dr Samura Kamara will result in an imbalance and disproportionate outcome.
