Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone and a current global star is the driving force behind the Hands Off Our Girls campaign.

The campaign, which was started in December 2018, aims to influence policy against gender-based violence against women and girls as well as child labor, early marriage, and other forms of child sexual abuse and exploitation.

For the previous four years and up to the present, Her Highness has traveled the entire nation spreading the hands-off-our-girls message.

In order to promote the Hands Off Our Daughters campaign, the First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada, Global Icon Bio, launched the Free Sanitary Pads Distribution project. According to statistics, one in ten girls in Africa drops out of school as a result of menstrual hygiene difficulties.

A few of the successes of the “Hands Off Our Girls” campaign include:

The enactment of the Sexual Offense Amendment Act of 2019.

Establishment of a fast-track special court for rape cases launched in 2020.

Facilitated International Training Of 40 Medical Doctors To Treat Rape Victims And Help Prosecutors With Testimonies And Evidence During Rape Trials.

Heightened national and international awareness of gender-based violence issues, sexual abuses and exploitation, child labor, rape, and early marriage.

Succeeded in distributing thousands of free sanitary pads to girls from across the country to address menstrual hygiene and intensify civic education on menstrual health.

The Hands Off Our Girls Campaign is now an international initiative that aims to get the world’s attention on the need to protect our girls. Now that men are no longer allowed to harass or bully girls, they are free to pursue their education. We owe her a debt of gratitude as a Country for her glitzy promotion of our females.
