Many young people today, including school-going children, are not thinking much about their future. Instead, they focus more on what makes them happy in the moment.
In life, if you do not work hard and make some sacrifices to achieve something meaningful, it will be difficult for you and your family to enjoy a better life in the future.
A growing concern is that many young people are spending too much time on their phones. They use them almost all day. Instead of reading their notes or paying attention to teachers in school, they spend hours listening to music, making TikTok videos, and watching online content.
Another serious issue is drug abuse. Some young people take substances such as Tramadol and Kush. This is extremely dangerous and negatively impacts their health, learning, and prospects for future success.
In the past, communication between boys and girls in schools was limited. Sometimes, students would write letters to each other. But today, because of mobile phones and the internet, some pupils watch inappropriate content online and secretly arrange to meet their boyfriends or girlfriends after school, on weekends, or while running errands.
When parents are not present with their children, it is during these periods that some young people misuse their time spending too long on phones, engaging in immoral activities, unhealthy relationships, or taking drugs.
Personally, I am appealing to the government to ban the use of phones during school hours across the country. I also call on authorities to take strong action against people who sell drugs to young people.
If strict laws and policies are not implemented, the future of our present generation will be in serious jeopardy.
