The National Secretary-General of the All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya Esq., has issued a bold warning regarding the integrity of the upcoming 2028 general elections.
Speaking at the conclusion of a three-day retreat for the APC’s Independent Elections Monitoring Committee (IEMOC) in Makeni, Dumbuya declared that the APC is fully mobilized and prepared to reclaim political leadership in the next election cycle.
Dumbuya characterized the forthcoming elections as a critical juncture for Sierra Leone’s democracy, declaring, “The 2028 elections will be a do-or-die affair.”
He affirmed the APC’s readiness to confront any electoral irregularities, stating, “Let the government start constructing a prison bigger than Pademba Road, because the entire APC is prepared to go to jail if the 2028 elections are tampered with.”
He emphasized the importance of selecting a presidential candidate with the strength and determination to fight for the will of the people. “We will only field a candidate who can withstand pressure and advocate for our citizens,” Dumbuya stated.
Dumbuya further asserted that the resistance to any form of election fraud would extend beyond the APC. “It won’t just be our party. The entire nation will stand up against any attempt to rig the people’s vote,” he warned.
In addition to discussing the 2028 elections, Dumbuya urged party members to actively participate in the upcoming 2026 National Population and Housing Census.
He noted that the census is vital for determining electoral boundaries and ensuring fair political representation, which will be crucial for the APC’s strategy moving forward.
Dumbuya called for unity among APC supporters, encouraging them to shift their focus from merely contesting election outcomes to decisively winning at the polls. “We are ready to stand our ground in 2028. This party will not back down,” he concluded.

Mr S-G, why would you expect a different result other than what occurred in June 2023, if the rules governing elections remain the same and the players involved continue to occupy the same office? Will the same ECSL under the extant rules that rigged the 2023 elections be expected to deliver a different result in 2028? Apollleh…Fight to change the rules and the players.
