The All Peoples Congress (APC) has announced the recommencement of membership registration and verification across the country. The process, set to begin on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, aims to clean up the party’s membership database and establish a transparent system for new members.

According to a public notice issued by the party, the decision to embark on this exercise was necessitated by discrepancies discovered in the existing membership records, including duplicate registrations, fake membership cards, and a backlog of unprocessed applications.

To address these issues, the APC has developed a new software system for membership registration, management, and communication. The system has undergone extensive consultations with party officials, stakeholders, and representatives from various groups.

The verification process will involve existing members, executive members at all levels, and new applicants. Existing members will be required to physically verify their information within a year, while new members will undergo a rigorous screening process.

“We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough registration process that aligns with our party’s constitution,” stated Lansana Dumbuya Esq., National Secretary General of the APC. “This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening our membership base and upholding our party’s principles.”

The APC has categorized membership into four classes: Honorary Foundation Member, Patron Member, Honorary Executive Member, and Ordinary Member. Each category has specific eligibility criteria and associated fees.

The party has outlined a schedule for the launch of the membership registration process in different regions, with Freetown set to host the official launch on July 31, 2024.

The APC is urging all party members to participate in the verification process and to encourage potential new members to join the party.
