The All Peoples Congress (APC) party has announced it will hold separate strategic meetings this week with its sitting and incoming Members of Parliament, as well as elected local council officials, to deliberate on the party’s participation in governance processes.

In a public notice issued on March 8, 2026, the party’s National Secretariat informed the general membership and the public that the meetings are part of ongoing internal consultations aimed at strengthening the APC’s collective resolve and unified strategic position.

According to the statement, the first meeting will bring together all sitting APC Members of Parliament and those awaiting confirmation—referring to candidates whose names appear on the list submitted to the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL). The session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. prompt at the APC National Secretariat, 11A Railway Line, Brookfields, Freetown.

A separate consultative meeting will follow on Thursday, March 12, 2026, also at 11:00 a.m., for all elected APC local council officials and those whose names appear on the corresponding list held with the ECSL.

The APC leadership stated that the meetings concern “the withdrawal of APC elected officials from participation in governance processes”—a reference to the party’s ongoing deliberations over its engagement with state institutions.

“The Leadership considers this moment to be critical in the Party’s continued efforts to defend democratic accountability, uphold the will of the people, and respond decisively to the prevailing political circumstances affecting governance in Sierra Leone,” the notice read.

All affected officials have been strongly urged to attend and be punctual, as the deliberations are expected to have significant implications for the party’s next course of action.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to consultation, unity, and principled leadership in safeguarding democracy and the interests of the people of Sierra Leone.

The notice was issued by the National Secretary General of the All Peoples Congress party.
