The Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council (WARD-C), Kasho Joseph Holland Cole, has revealed that several prominent figures within the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) are set to be officially expelled from the party during its upcoming 2026 delegates’ conference.

Speaking in Freetown, Chairman Cole, fondly referred to as “Father Lion,” disclosed that Alfred Peter Conteh, former Chairman of the Interim Governance Transition Committee (IGTC), along with Hon. Mohamed Bangura and Hon. Alfred Thompson, former Members of Parliament, no longer represent the interests of the APC.

According to Cole, “Their actions have betrayed the principles and values of the party. They would have long been expelled, but our constitution makes it clear that members can only be expelled at a delegates’ conference. Only through that process, and proper consultations, does the chairman have the power to take such action.”

He further stressed that Alfred Peter Conteh is not recognized as a legitimate member of the APC, despite public claims to the contrary. Councilor Cole alleged that Conteh has avoided opportunities to engage with other APC members in open discussions, fearing his true status within the party would be exposed.

The WARD-C Chairman emphasized that the APC is a structured institution governed by clear rules and regulations. “Any individual found to be in violation of these rules will be shown the exit door without hesitation,” he stated. “APC is governed by laws, and anyone attempting to break them will face the consequences.”

Cole also reaffirmed that the APC leadership remains firmly in the hands of Alhaji Dr. Minkailu Mansaray as National Chairman and Osman Foday Yansaneh as Deputy Chairman, dismissing any contrary claims.

He concluded by noting that the upcoming delegates’ conference will be a decisive moment for the party, aimed at strengthening internal discipline and restoring unity ahead of the 20
