The All People’s Congress (APC) has taken a significant step towards fostering unity and progress in Sierra Leone through a pivotal peace dialogue.

This dialogue, held at the APC party headquarters, on the 13th of October 2023, gathered together distinguished international partners, including the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Commonwealth.

According to Foday Sadik Kamara, Head of Communications and Digital Transformation, Samurakamara2023, he testified that the event was not just a meeting of minds; it symbolized the harmonious convergence of aspirations and ambitions for a better Sierra Leone. Notably, the presence of the National Commission for Peace and Reconciliation transformed this event from a diplomatic endeavor into a profound peace-building initiative aimed at strengthening national unity.

He continues, saying the discussions during the gathering were rich with possibilities, transcending political affiliations, social strata, and economic classes. Drawing upon the collective wisdom and experiences of the AU, ECOWAS, and the Commonwealth, in collaboration with Sierra Leone’s National Commission, added an international perspective to the nation’s domestic aspirations.

He remarked that the event exemplified the wisdom of the African proverb that states, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” Sierra Leone’s commitment to togetherness was evident, with each step carefully calculated to ensure inclusivity.

Sadik called on all Supporters of the APC and the general public to have ample reason to have faith in the direction Sierra Leone is taking. The meeting’s tone was not just positive but infused with optimism, underlined by a shared commitment to secure lasting peace, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the overall well-being of the nation.

Furthermore, Kamara said the initiative is not about any single political party or individual but rather a collective effort to build a brighter future for Sierra Leone.

Hence, Sadik emphasized that while it’s natural to have concerns about the future, the tenor and substance of this dialogue left no room for doubt that everyone involved, under the leadership of Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, is unwavering in their dedication to Sierra Leone’s best interests. In the intricate dance of politics, economics, and social dynamics, missteps are expected, but they are just steps, not the end of the journey. Sierra Leone is a nation moving forward together, and gatherings like this bring the country closer to the dream of a united, prosperous, and harmonious Sierra Leone.

In conclusion, Sadik encourages all supporters that the call to action is clear:

He said, “Continue supporting these initiatives, ask challenging questions, and hold leaders accountable, all while keeping in mind the fundamental goal of a better Sierra Leone for all its citizens. Under the leadership of Dr. Samura Kamara, the future appears promising, with the beacon of prosperity shining brightly over the hills and valleys of this beautiful land. The collective well-being of the nation, much like the iconic Cotton Tree in Freetown, remains deeply rooted in shared aspirations, continually rising toward the sky. May peace prevail in Sierra Leone.”
