Newly Elected APC Mayors and MPs Refuse to Participate in Governance Processes

The newly elected Mayors and Members of Parliament (MPs) from Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC), have declared their intent to abstain from participating in the governance processes of the state.

This decision follows a resolution made by the APC’s National Advisory Committee during a meeting held on June 30th, 2023, as stated in the party’s press release.

The resolution, which was released on the same day as the meeting, clearly outlined the party’s decision not to partake in any level of governance in Sierra Leone.

The elected representatives of the APC in Parliament have wholeheartedly endorsed this position and have vowed to abstain from participating in the country’s 6th Parliament until their party’s demands are met.

Are they doing this for APC or for the people that voted them in? Is there any data manifesting that, that decision is made by the people? If not, then I see no respect for the people ut for the party. Politicians should start manifesting their loyalty to the people and not their unstructured parties.

That's a good idea for the team A APC Mami cause PPP party but this is not the first time people to boycott in governance in Sierra Leone it happened during the days of Siaka Steven the founder of APC so if its repeated again during president Bio regime there is no problem about that and the APC will becoming more irrelevant to State because they preferred their ambition than the people that voted them in.

Let them stay out, it will be an opportunity for those who demand the said position. All the SLPP who lost to the APC are well prepared to replace them in the well of Parliament. This decision by the APC is not about the past election but the 2028 general election. APC will die in opposition by God's grace.

That's great decision to help save our hard earned democracy! I see nothing wrong for the ECSL to publish the disaggregated polling data station by station, that will help launder their already tainted image.
