Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara (JFK), a prominent figure in the All People’s Congress (APC), has expressed concerns over the party’s ongoing peace tour.
According to JFK, the initiative, which was designed to foster reconciliation and unity, has taken a divisive turn.
In a post on his official social media platform, JFK lamented that the APC Peace Tour has transformed into what he described as an “Anti-Samura Bashing Event,” with rhetoric that undermines the principles of peace and unity. He described this shift as “regrettable” and emphasized the need for the party to remain inclusive, despite internal differences.
“We should embrace one and all.
We may hold differing opinions on Electoral Justice, but build blocs of consensus and plan for victory come 2028,” JFK urged, highlighting the importance of collective strategy over internal conflict.
This comment comes amidst heightened tensions within the APC following the party’s loss in the June 2023 elections and its ongoing legal battle over alleged electoral irregularities. While the peace tour was initially conceived to mend divisions and strengthen the party ahead of future elections, JFK’s statement suggests internal disagreements may be hampering these efforts.
The remarks have drawn mixed reactions from APC supporters. Some echo JFK’s call for unity, while others argue that frank discussions about leadership and party direction are necessary for growth.
As the APC gears up for the 2028 general elections, the challenge remains whether the party can reconcile its internal differences and present a united front. JFK’s call for consensus serves as a reminder that unity within the APC could be key to reclaiming political power in the years ahead.
The APC is yet to issue an official response to JFK
