APC flagbearer aspirant Dr. Richard Konteh has sent a strong message to the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) and the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), saying the 2023 elections were cheated and that the APC will not allow the same thing to happen in 2028.
Speaking in a recent online TV interview, Dr. Konteh said the ECSL and SLPP changed the outcome of the election because they believed the APC was weak and would not fight back.
“They take us for granted and get away with it,” he said. “But 2023 will be the last election that the SLPP and ECSL cheat in that way and get away with it. We’ll resist it this time.”
He said the APC is now fully prepared for any situation and will not sit back and watch the people’s votes be tampered with again. According to him, the party is determined to protect every vote and ensure that the people’s voices are respected.
“We’re ready for them in any situation and will go into the elections fully prepared,” he added. “We assure the people that their votes will count, and that their right to choose the leader they deserve will be protected.”
Dr. Konteh’s remarks come as Sierra Leoneans continue to debate how the 2023 elections were handled and what must change ahead of 2028.
IN RICHARD CONTEH’S DREAMS. WE HAVE A PRESIDENT ELECT IN DR SAMURA MW KAMARA, AND NOTHING CAN CHANGE IT!!!
Apc have never accepted defeat,so if even the SLPP defeat them in 2028,they will still protest.
It’s too early to talk about elections. The primary focus should be on how to sell the party and activate people’s confidence in the party.
