Secretary General of the main Opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party, Lansana Dumbuya Esq has described the statement made by the Chief Electoral Commissioner of the Electoral Commission Sierra Leone (ECSL), Mohamed Konneh as a threat to the peace and stability of the country.
He said this in reaction to Konneh’s statement at a news conference held at their Headquarters, Old Railway Line, Brookfield, Freetown, on Wednesday June 26th 2024.
The ECSL Boss told journalists at a news conference on Monday 24th June, 2024, that his Commission followed all the protocols and laws when conducting the June 24th 2023, Presidential Parliamentary and Local Council elections. He also said that there is no law that mandates the Commission to publish disaggregated data after an election.
“This fight transcends party lines—it’s about defending democracy and ensuring every voice counts,” Dumbuya asserted, urging patience as investigations continue. He criticized the ECSL’s conduct under Konneh’s leadership, suggesting it disenfranchised voters and undermined electoral integrity.
Dumbuya described Konneh’s recent remarks, asserting adherence to electoral protocols and dismissing the need for post-election result publication, as deeply troubling for Sierra Leoneans. He accused Konneh of exacerbating national issues, attributing current challenges to the ECSL’s alleged mishandling of the June 24, 2023, Presidential and general elections.
The APC Scribe emphasized that Konneh’s statement does not sound well in the ears of many Sierra Leoneans. He accused the ECSL Commissioner of creating several problems for the people of Sierra Leone, thus, the reason why they are in this mess today.
He called on Sierra Leoneans to exercise patience as the Tripartite Committe report including the findings and recommendations will be out shortly. He noted that the fight is not about the All People’s Congress and democracy and the people. He noted that with all the challenges and difficulties people faced in casting their votes to elect new leaders, they were disenfranchised by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone, adding that the Commission also refused their voices to be heard. He said if the ECSL boss is sure of following due process in the 2023 elections why was the Tripartite Committee established.
He noted that the country is currently experiencing hardship, adding that the only solution is to usher in the All People’s Congress (APC) party to change the narrative.

I don’t believe this APC is ever going to get prepared for any future elections in salone. They shall keep on this explanation and disagreeing to every thing.
Mind you, it’s only 3 to 4 years to the next election. And they are never ready to talk about, if the should win any elections, how should they govern. “Salone look get bad luck”. Because if the 2007 or 1967 should repeat. We will have government that the leader may not be vetted. As they way the pa kabbah, or president Bio were vetted by their party.
APC, even the UN or AU or the people of Sierra Leone, will not reverse the 2023 elections. Start to think about the consequences. I believe even within the APC itself there are many who want to move on. What are they asking for now? That Sierra Leoneans should wake up on morning, and president Bio will handover to samura? Or a new elections conducted, in which case, which organization will finance it. Because America, EU, and UK, will not have those discussions in their house of Representatives. Wuna nor get d money, government nor get am.

This guy, APC secretary really think this country is theirs alone. It is better to wake from your slumber and dreams. ECSL clearly advised that during pre election campaign, make policy very precise and touchy to gain the heart of every citizen right across the country. If your vision for the people is bleak and uncertain and your party governance is against certain set of group, how would you be accepted let alone gain their votes; it’s impossible. If you think one or two regions can make you win state house you are missing the point and with such concept determines your permanent stays in opposition. A lot more polling stations in the southeast were abandoned by your party in term of representation or observers so where did you get all your results which you are defending, from Northwest right. You guys will rot in opposition trust the process.
SLPP thinks we APC are afraid to fight for our right? If the election results are not published, madam Bio will never know peace. Trust us. If it is for trouble, you know the North does not get scarred. Let’s keep it on. Time will tell
APC believe that not all fights require abusive language, weapons, ammunition and more harmful tools. But we believe in mutual respect and professional submissions.
We will continue to follow democratic procedures until the outcome of the 2023 elections reflects the will of the people in the country.

Let justice prevail
Those who are happy with this government are the one crying in their corners more than those who already know the system is sick and rot. I have was happy with Maada Bio government when he assumed office in 2018. But now he is the one that is crying more than me who already knows that Ngor Maada will failed us woefully. How do you think Ngor Maada will have freedom of speech within the democratic principle when he know that he will not do any good things that Sierra Leoneans will appreciate him. How should I believe in Ngor Maada when he increased a bag of rice from Le 200,000 to Le 1,100,000. A litre of fuel from Le 6,000 to Le 30,000 etc etc.. Only mad person will think that Ngor Maada has done good things. I hate his dishonesty rule to the Sierra Leone people.
For Mohamed kenewi konneh, he will not have peace here and in his grave. He is a child of satan and has no respect for the Electorate. If he did justice to the voters, Allah will bless him and his family, but if he did injustice to the voters, Allah punishment will meet him and his entire family till death do meet them.
Na only Allah will see us the masses,
With God we pray for better salon. All my advice here is that the: let the rule, rule and the unruled keep mute 🔕 on this matter and build another strategy for better salon, coming 2028.
