Special Adviser to His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, Ambassador Bond Wurie, host of government ministers and heads of Parastatals related to the country’s mining industry were in Lunsar, the headquarter town of Marampa chiefdom in in Port Loko district for the recent commissioning of the ultra-modern Marampa Mines.

In a snap interview with The Exclusive, Ambassador Bon Wurie stated the chances of his boss winnig the coming 2023 Presidential elections are great. He furthered that President Bio is a man of his word, citing his four years development strides in not only Port Loko, but across the country as various speakers express similar sentiment.

In his keynote address, President Bio cited the best 2022 WASSCE candidate coming from the Murialdo  senior secondary school in Lunsar which, he said, bears testimony to his flagship free quality education (FQE) project benefiting all Sierra Leoneans. In terms of infrastructural development, the President also pointed the successful negotiation between his government and Marampa mines and the immediate short term benefit of the deal to Marampa, Port Loko and the rest of the country in terms of jobs, incomes and taxes, royalties and percentage of profit to the Government and people of Sierra Leone who own 10 percent stake in the mines.

On his part, Chairman of the occasion, Resident minister North-West, Hon. Alpha Kanu pointed to impressionable development in Port Loko by the President and his government including building two important access bridge – Mabang which links Port Loko district to Moyamba and Bonthe District and Rogbere bridge which links the Capital with the entire Northern region ang Guinea.

He also spoke of the state-of-the-art girls’ school that was built in Port Loko for the Empowerment of girls.

Ambassador Wurie’s optimism is shared by his boss who at his nomination for his party’s 2023 flagbearer position boasted that he will “Borbor APC” -Meaning he will easily defeat APC.

Although President Bio admit that country, like all countries across the world, has continued to wrestle with the immense global economic crises and the lingering effect of the COVID-19 pandemic that has made food, petroleum product and others goods more expensive not only in Sierra Leone but USA, UK, France, China, Australia, India, Bangla Desh, Nigeria, Guinea than ‘hey were few months ago, the President confidence in wining the 2023 elections depends on the assertion that his Government has done more for the people in Four years than any previous government.

In a nutshell, President Bio maintains that his government amidst the challenges has built and rehabilitated more school infrastructure, committed more money to supporting education, extended universal access to free quality education all children, provided free learning and teaching materials, revamped vocational education and fundamentally changed education in just four years because he believes that an educated nation will be the ultimate game changer from poverty to prosperity.

He also maintain that he has improved the health sector with huge investments in worker recruitment and infrastructure rehabilitation.

In the area of agriculture, his government he said has introduced more mechanization in all sixteen district, provided more input support for farmers, established more new cash crop fields, and expanded agricultural value chains. He also spoke of having expanded energy access and provided electricity to more towns and villages across the country.

He also said that they have expanded access to portable water with brand new investments in water infrastructure and asset in all district headquarter towns and other towns and villages.

The Exclusive Newspaper reports that, for the above reasons and many more, Ambassador Bond Wurie told this press confidently that President Bio’s chance of winning the 2023 elections is very great.
