Honourable Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, widely known as Chericoco, officially stepped down from his position as the Deputy Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC) party, in line with the provisions set out in Article 47 of the APC’s 2022 Constitution.
The handover ceremony took place on October 10, 2024, at the party’s headquarters, marking the end of Chericoco’s tenure as the Deputy Leader of APC.
During the event, Chericoco handed over the keys to the office suites of the Deputy Leader of APC to Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya, in the presence of the National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, and other senior members of the party’s National Advisory Council (NAC). The ceremony was also attended by notable APC figures, including Dr. Samura Kamara, Amb. Osman Foday Yansaneh, National Publicity Secretary Sidi Yayah Tunis, Deputy Organising Secretary Cherno C.S. Kamara, and other prominent members.
In his farewell address, Chericoco expressed his gratitude to the APC Leadership and the entire membership for the opportunity to serve the party. He affirmed his loyalty to the APC and his willingness to continue serving the party in any capacity or assignment that may be given to him in the future. Chericoco’s heartfelt gesture of holding his hand to his chest during his remarks symbolized his unwavering dedication to the party’s values and objectives.
Chericoco has had a significant impact on both the APC party and Sierra Leonean politics. With his extensive experience as a three-time Member of Parliament and two-time running mate to Dr. Samura Kamara, his departure from the Deputy Leader position is seen as the beginning of a new chapter in his political journey.
The APC acknowledged Chericoco’s contributions to the party, emphasizing his dedication to the party’s mission and his role in strengthening its leadership. He has played a pivotal part in shaping the party’s strategies and advocating for its principles at various levels.
Following the handover ceremony, Chericoco also attended the launch of the two-day National Women’s Congress Conference at the APC Headquarters, showcasing his continued involvement in party activities and his commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among its members.

Chericoco jumped before he’s been pushed! He knows what is coming. A very sly and deceitful politician who believes in undermining his boss and democracy. We’ll know who’s right very soon. The people of Sierra Leone are better off without these dangerous politicians who mean no good for them. Time to clean up Sierra Leone from bad politicians, bad individuals, bad journalists, bad religious leaders, bad CSO’s, bad pressure groups, bad rulers, bad Army and police, bad prarastatals, bad media houses, bad musicians and singers, bad juju men, etc. Chericoco, why not resign from the APC and politics all together to redeem your battered image? We await the likes of Richard CONTEH etc to do the same right NOW!
It’s of no surprise to me man while Dr Samura was fighting with his alleged case this man was supposed to campaign for the part but it instead he relaxed , and with all the fighting for electoral justice I haven’t heard this man saying any thing . My fear here if Bio go Scott free with impunity for the alleged electoral injustice and the unnecessary imposion of deal principle that is not in the interest of the nation ,I’m if the by mean other political party takes power for its not to do the same he did and our Salon will stock for another year which we can’t afford to see it’s will be a recipe for chaos bcuz of bad precedent let us be mindful of the repercussions of actions I thank you all May Allah bless mama Salone Amin ya Allah
