In a recent post, Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Sengeh, shared a message with both young and old citizens of Sierra Leone, encouraging them to join his Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

His message positions the party’s commitment to unity and inclusion at the apex.

“My message to young and old people is simple. Join the Sierra Leone People’s Party. We believe in unity – One Country, One People. We also believe in inclusion. Some of us take it a notch further – Radical Inclusion!” Sengeh said, stressing that the SLPP is dedicated to ensuring that all Sierra Leoneans, regardless of age, have a role in shaping the country’s future.

The Chief Minister also spoke about his work within the SLPP over the past four years. He mentioned his leadership role as Chair of the Independent Elections Monitoring and Oversight Committee in 2021, where he oversaw the first-ever live broadcast of the party’s internal elections. He also discussed his current role as Chair of the Constitution Review Committee (2024-2025), noting that the review process has been inclusive, transparent, and participatory.

He described the SLPP as “an amazingly progressive and democratic party,” one that believes in inclusion and creating a political environment where people of all ages contribute to the country’s future.

Sengeh also spoke about “Radical Inclusion” as a key principle of the SLPP, aiming to ensure that diverse voices are part of shaping the country’s future.

Inter-party elections are the prelude to national elections in Sierra Leone. The SLPP, the ruling party, is currently holding lower-level elections across the country to set their house in order before the national elections in 2028.
