EU EOM visits His Lordship Chief Justice Hon. Desmond Babatunde Edwards at his office in Freetown to discuss election preparedness to deal with election related cases.
Among the visitor were a legal analyst that meets the Chief Justice. They discuss the aspects of observing and assessing the legal framework governing the elections, as well as election dispiute resolution.
The EU EOM has deployed several observers over all the 16 districts in Sierra Leone. They are working tirelessly to see that the election is free and fair come June 24 2023. The EU EOM has been visiting parliamentarians, community chiefs and other stakeholders to salvage any election violence to come. They are also engaging into voter’s education in these districts to help people with the know how on Election Day.
Visiting the Chief Justice is part of maintain the peace and order before, during and after the elections. This will build the relationship between the Justice system and the EU EOM
