A serious fight has broken out at the All People’s Congress (APC) Party office in Masiaka, Port Loko District, Northwest Region, following a disagreement over the distribution of party membership identification cards.
According to reports from the APC party office in Masiaka, the incident occurred when a large number of party members gathered to collect their membership ID cards. Tension reportedly started when some members demanded the immediate distribution of the cards.
Party authorities overseeing the exercise explained to the members that ID cards for a particular district in the North West Region were not available at the time. The officials stated that the available cards were not sufficient to serve all members present and appealed for patience, assuring them that the outstanding ID cards were on the way and would be distributed once they arrived.
Sources at the party office said the explanation did not satisfy some of the members, who refused to comply with the appeal from the authorities. The members reportedly insisted that the available ID cards be shared immediately, a situation that escalated into a heated confrontation.
The disagreement later turned into a physical fight within the party office, disrupting normal activities and creating a tense atmosphere in the area.
Party sources confirmed the incident but did not provide information on whether any injuries were sustained or if arrests were made. As of the time of this report, calm has reportedly been restored at the APC office in Masiaka.
The APC leadership has not yet issued an official public statement on the incident, but party authorities are expected to address concerns surrounding the distribution of the membership ID cards.
