Political commentator Sylvia Olayinka Blyden has stated that, as things currently stand, there is no room for Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh among those likely to succeed President Julius Maada Bio as the flagbearer of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

According to Blyden, potential successors within the party include KKY, First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, Dr. Ali Kabba, Timothy Kabba, Sidi Tunis, Napoleon Koroma, Musa Tarawally, Vice President Dr. Juldeh Jalloh, and even Fanday Turay. She noted that these individuals would be favoured in any succession contest within the SLPP.

Sylvia Blyden emphasized that her assessment is based strictly on constitutional provisions and not on any random or personal review.

She pointed out that Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh was notably absent from her list of likely and victorious candidates, suggesting that he may not be qualified under the constitutional requirements.

She maintained that her position is grounded in constitutional interpretation rather than political sentiment or speculation.
