Veteran politician, Alpha Kanu has clarified that many people do not understand the meaning of electoral justice in the country.
“I read notice from the police in which some people said that they want to match for electoral justice,” he said. “They do not know the meaning of electoral justice and they should google it.”
He furthered by giving a descriptive definition of electoral justice and urged seekers to go to the courts if they need justice rather than demonstrate for it. Kanu urged the local population to remain peaceful.
“My people, do not listen to the educated class asking you to go out on the street,” he admonished.
He also added that the former All People’s Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, Samura Kamara never urged people to protest for electoral justice.
“What Samura Kamara meant is for people to be peaceful and wait for the justice,” Kanu noted.
Kanu admonished supporters of Samura Kamara to remain peaceful and abide by the law and constitution.
“Samura Kamara has accepted the results and Tripartite recommendations,” he said. He added that what this means is that there will be no elections until 2028.
