The Presidential Candidate of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Samura Kamara has expressed appreciation to Sierra Leoneans who came out to vote in the country’s presidential election on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Sierra Leoneans went to the polls on 24th June 2023 to cast their votes in the presidential, parliamentary, and local councils’ elections.

Kamara is looking to unseat the incumbent President Julius Maada Bio. However, there are 11 other presidential candidates in the race.

After casting his vote at MAFA field polling Centre located at Regent Road in Lumley, Freetown on Saturday, Kamara lamented over the delayed commencement of the polls and the poor organization observed at various polling stations, particularly the one where he cast his vote. Additionally, he raised concerns about the alleged intimidation of APC party agents in the southern regions, specifically in Bonthe and Pujehun.

In a message released on Sunday morning after the election, Kamara thanked every single voter who made their voice heard in the elections.

“🙏 🇸🇱 A heartfelt THANK YOU to the nation and every single voter who made their voice heard in our presidential, parliamentary, and local elections! 🗳️ Your participation is what fuels our democracy, and together, we’ll work towards a brighter future for all. Let’s unite and move forward! 💪 #Election2023 #ThankYouVoters #UnitedWeStand”
