As Sierra Leone is in its peak of the election process for the June 24th, 2023 elections, the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Secretary General, Umaru Napoleon Koroma has made a strong statement with regard disruption of the election.

He stated that “the SLPP will stoutly reject any attempt to disrupt the June 24th, 2023 elections in Sierra Leone”.

This statement was made by SLPP Secretary General Umaru Napoleon Koroma in response to the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate Samura Kamara’s demand for the resignation of the Chief Electoral Commissioner of Sierra Leone Mohamed Konneh and all other commissioners.

The APC presidential candidate Samura Kamara made this demand in a press conference held on Wednesday 14th June 2023 at the Brookfields Hotel in Freetown after a series of allegations that he said made the commissioners unqualified to conduct free, fair, and credible elections in the country.
