The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) through its National Executive Council (NEC) has warned all intended Flagbearer Aspirants not to campaign for the position.

The NAC, the highest decision-making body of the SLPP, has announced its commitment to uphold party unity by implementing immediate suspensions for any members actively campaigning for the position of Flagbearer. This measure aims to ensure a fair and orderly selection process for the party’s leadership.

NAC has also promised to informed it members on the appropriate date for the commencement of campaign.

The recent decision made by the National Advisory Council (NAC) has garnered praise from numerous supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). Many of these supporters are emphasizing the importance of concentrating on the president’s agenda at this time, suggesting that the party should set aside campaign efforts, as the election period is still a considerable distance away. This perspective reflects a desire for unity and focus on current governance rather than a premature dive into electoral politics.
