The newly elected National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Jimmy Batilo Songa, has on Monday, August 4, 2025, chaired his first national executive meeting, urges unity among party mambers.
During the session, Songa emphasized the importance of unity and collective focus, stating, “the only camp moving forward is the SLPP.”
Reiterating his commitment to the party’s mission, he urged all executive members to work collaboratively in preparation for the upcoming 2028 elections.
Songa affirmed the need for immediate engagement with all party structures and committed to fostering an inclusive, action-oriented leadership style.

Executive members expressed their support for Chairman Songa, pledging to work towards a stronger and more united SLPP.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to the party’s Constitution, encouraging all members to be impactful and actively involved.
As the 2028 elections approach, the new SLPP executive has officially begun its work. Jimmy Batilo Songa was elected National Chairman in a landslide victory during the party’s 14th National Delegates Conference.
