Moses Mambu, National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has outlined measures aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) during an interview on Liberty Online TV.
Mambu stated that ministers will be under increased pressure as a means to improve service delivery and drive national development, noting that the approach is intended to benefit the country rather than being politically motivated.
“This is not about pressure from the SLPP executive,” Mambu said. “Our aim is for ministers to have sleepless nights thinking about how to bring development to their ministries and contribute to the progress of the country.”
Responding to questions about timing, Mambu explained that pressuring ministers for performance is not new, but the party is now making its approach publicly known to ensure accountability and transparency in government operations.
According to the SLPP PRO, the initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen governance and ensure effective delivery of public services, which will also be a consideration in the 2028 general elections.
