The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has promised 500,000 jobs for Sierra Leonean youths if they are re-elected after next month’s general elections. 

The party made this promise in their recently launched manifesto ahead of the 24 June polls.

In the said manifesto, President Bio pirotizes five major areas which they described as ‘game changer’ to accelerate economic growth and building resilence in the country.

Key among the five pirotize is the Youth Employment SCHEME – a presidential initiative to harness the energy of Sierra Leone’s youth by creating 500,000 Jobs across all sectors.

The SLPP manifesto justifies that this will be done by providing incentives to the private sectors to hire, train and unskill especially young women and girls .

The Youth Employment scheme followed by the Human Capital Development, nuturing skills for 21st Century industry. The SLPP Government affirms that it will invest in developing the technical and vocational skills required to grow the economy focusing on particularly on creating equal opportunity for women.
