Following the recent suspension of two of their strong diaspora members from the party, the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has appointed three of their senior hierarchy including the national secretary general Umaru Napoleon Koroma, majority leader in Parliament Hon. Mathew Nyuma and Mr. John Oponjo Benjamin (JOB) to the United Kingdom on a reconciliation mission to amicably resolve the matter.

The two men, Harry Moseray Caulker and Prince Kallon were suspended following their decision to take the party to court in UK without following the party’s due procedures to settle grievance.

Meanwhile, having considered the dire effect such decision (suspension) will have on the party particularly its chances of winning the trumpeted 2028 general elections; the SLPP hierarchy has deemed it prudent to hurriedly take the precautionary measure.

In similar circumstance, the party has instructed its reconciliation committee to visit all districts across the country to engage their members before the National Delegates Conference.

In that effort, the party has cautioned its entire membership to stay calm and focus for the general good of the party and importantly to work hard to retain power in 2028.
