In a video that has recently gained widespread attention on social media, a member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), known as “White Boy,” delivered a heartfelt message to President Julius Maada Bio.
Opening with greetings to President Bio, First Lady Fatima Bio, Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, and the SLPP ministers, White Boy highlighted the growing frustration among the party’s young members, particularly those stationed at the SLPP headquarters.
In his message, White Boy expressed deep concerns about the plight of the youth loyal to the party. He stated, “We brothers at the party office are constraining,” pointing out that many young supporters feel abandoned despite their unwavering dedication to the SLPP.
He specifically mentioned missed opportunities, lamenting that “Forestry guard came and didn’t take them, job vacancy came they didn’t take them,” signaling a broader issue of unemployment and exclusion.
White Boy further criticized the ministers within the Bio administration, accusing them of failing to support the youth at the party office.
“President Bio, those ministers that you appointed, the majority of them do nothing for the young ones at the party office,” he emphasized, revealing the growing disillusionment among SLPP’s grassroots supporters.
In a show of solidarity, White Boy mentioned his full support for the SLPP-affiliated artists from Kenema, particularly endorsing the “Kenema Boys” and affirming his unwavering loyalty to the party’s cultural ambassadors.
However, he did not shy away from addressing the perceived neglect by the party leadership, noting that despite their commitment, “we the young ones, we’re the ones that were dancing for the SLPP, but now, when this betterment comes, they have forgotten about us.”
Concluding his message, White Boy issued a stark warning ahead of the upcoming elections. He emphasized the urgency of addressing the grievances of the party’s youth, pointing to the “wickedness and greediness” of certain ministers as major issues that could impact the party’s electoral prospects.
“Election is right around the corner,” he cautioned, signaling the growing frustration and discontent within the party’s base.
White Boy’s emotional appeal serves as a critical reminder to President Bio and the SLPP leadership that the loyalty of their grassroots supporters should not be taken for granted, particularly as the nation approaches a critical election period.
