Some grassroot supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) have firmly advocated for the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh to spearhead the party’s campaign for the 2028 presidential election.

Supporters have described Dr. Jalloh as the “only unifying figure” who can secure a third term for the SLPP, especially as political tensions rise in the country.

Report confirmed that communities from Kono to Freetown has rallied behind the chants of “Juldeh na we only hope!” Proponents asserted that his loyalty to President Bio and his ability to resonate across different regions made him indispensable for the party.

“Dr. Juldeh Jalloh has stood by the president through every storm. He’s earned his stripes, now he must lead!” said Mariama C. Lebbie, a Women’s Grassroots Leader from Bo District.

Supporters point to Dr. Jalloh’s role in advancing President Bio’s Free Quality Education initiative and his adept crisis management skills. They emphasized his unique position in bridging the North-South divide in Sierra Leonean politics.

Alhaji Sankoh, a youth leader from Makeni, highlighted, “he is very humble and very respectful. He does his work without noise and drama. The SLPP loses if we ignore him in 2028.”

“Who else has Dr Juldeh Jalloh’s resume? Who else can look the North and South in the eye and say, ‘I served you all?’” challenged Samuel Kallon, a supporter from Kenema.

Dr. Jalloh’s supporters maintained that his unwavering loyalty to President Bio and the party marks a departure from the past internal conflicts that have plagued the SLPP. A senior SLPP member, who wished to remain anonymous, affirmed, “He’s the only leader who won’t trash President Bio’s legacy to score points. With Dr. Juldeh Jalloh, it will be continuity and progress.”

Analyst Fatmata Mamoud Bangura noted, “He’s the SLPP’s safest bet, a technocrat with a clean record and no tribal baggage.”
