Former APC Minister, Mahmoud Tarawalie Reportedly in Police Custody

Former Deputy Minister of Health, Education and Lands, Mahmoud Tarawalie, member of the All People’s Congress (APC) is Reportedly at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters for questioning over an alleged incitement and prejudice of the Tripartite committee report in a social media audio he released a few days ago.

According to the report, Mahmoud Tarawalie in an audio called on his APC members and supporters to take the bull by the horns in letting the world know that they will not accept any outcome from the Tripartite committee other than a rerun of the June 24, 2023, Presidential election.

It was disclosed that Mahmoud alleged that President Bio never won the 2023 Presidential election for which the only report they as a party should accept from the tripartite committee is a rerun and nothing else.

“The US Ambassador has preempt, so we must also preempt, It’s not tomorrow, not next tomorrow but now” he said.

Mahmoud social media utterances have the tenancy of plunging the country into choas and threat to security should authorities concerns failed to take necessary actions now.

It is on this backdrop the Sierra Leone Police with the mandate to maintain peace and tranquility has summoned Mr Tarawalie for clarification.

There should be a law that after elections, if any party is not satisfied with the elections and did not go to curt with evidence to prove their point about the elections according to the law of Sierra Leone, and later goes around saying or doing anything that would lead to the instability of this country, should face the full force of the law. Success is always derived from strong criticism. You can never succeed in governance by trying to silence every opposition the June 23rd 2023 elections were full of irregularities commented by all and sundry observers. Our people always say " if you listen to the noise of the market you can never buy what you want to buy". We have been in this since 2018 and it has never yielded any good fruits. Don't you guys think it's high time you make a U turn and think about peace and progress. Be a responsible government and stop the unnecessary revenge. Let us think like one people in a one country. The goal should be to liberate Sierra Leone for poverty and economic hardship and not to fight our selves the cost of living and suffering is too much for the citizens. There is a misconception among Sierra Leoneans and in particular, members of the APC about the concept of freedom of speech.. We indeed have freedom of speech in our country. What the illiterate APC supporters do not understand is that freedom of speech has limitations For example, that freedom must be exercised, taking the feelings, interests and safety of others into consideration. The freedom does not allow anyone to speak or write frivolously and irresponsibly. And because APC supporters ignore or are not aware of these limitations, they almost always find themselves in trouble. Instead of accepting blames for their stupid and unscrupulous conducts, they foolishly try to politicise it and cast blames on others. This is disgraceful and disheartening.

Why did the former minister and the ones trying to ferment problems in the country, did not follow the law after the results of the elections were announced? Go to court if you're or your oarty feels dissatisfied with the outcome of the elections as presicribed by the law.
