John Sevalie, the Public Relations Officer of the All People’s Congress (A.P.C.) in the Eastern region, called for electoral justice during a recent visit from U.S. Ambassador Hunt to the party’s office in Kenema.

During the meeting, Sevalie expressed the party’s discontent with the 2023 general election results, stating that the APC has faced significant challenges under the current regime.

“In this country, prior to the election, our supporters were heavily beaten,” he lamented, emphasizing the intimidation and obstacles faced by the opposition party.

Sevalie highlighted that the A.P.C. was barred from campaigning in certain districts during the elections. He also pointed out that after winning their elections, APC members of parliament were certified to take their seats but were subsequently expelled by the current government.

The P.R.O. urged Ambassador Hunt to investigate the tripartite committee, recalling his role as a negotiator in restoring democracy in Sierra Leone. “Sierra Leoneans want electoral justice,” Sevalie stated, adding that the APC continues to endure unlawful arrests under the current administration.

The eastern region P.R.O reiterated the party’s commitment to international cooperation and diplomatic agreements, expressing dissatisfaction with the outcome of the 2023 elections.
