Former presidential candidate of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) party for the June 24th, 2023 elections Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella who recently allied with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has advised youths of Makeni not to be involved in violence.

He made this passionate plea to supporters of the SLPP in Makeni during their campaign.

Yumkella started by assuring the gathering of President Bio’s yearly visit to Makeni and continuous development if re-elected.

He said President Bio and the SLPP allying indicate no runoff in the June 24th, 2023 elections adding that even the international community has since that which led to recent support President Boi has received from the international community to continue his development drives.

“We know when NGC and SLPP come together there will be no run-off,” he said.

He called on the gathering not to listen to calls of anyone calling for violence. He said they should tell whoever asks them to demonstrate to call their family members to lead the demonstration.

“Whoever asked you to demonstrate, ask them to bring their sons, cousins, and grandfather to lead you in the demonstration,” Yumkella said.

He said they as politicians don’t want violence but development as Makeni will be the center of agriculture in the North in the next five years of President Bio as it used to be the center of exporting tobacco.

“Makeni will be the center of agriculture in the north as it used to be known for exporting tobacco,”ย he concluded.
