Sierra Leone international midfielder Abu Dumbuya has officially signed with Libyan Premier League club Al Wefaq, marking a new chapter in his professional career.

The move strengthens the midfield of the Sabratha‑based team as it competes in Libya’s top flight this season.

Dumbuya, a regular in the Leone Stars national team, completed the transfer earlier this month after leaving his previous club. The experienced midfielder, known for his physical presence and playmaking ability, has featured for several clubs across Sierra Leone and Europe, including East End Lions with whom he won the Sierra Leone National Premier League and a stint with Finnish side AC Oulu. He has also played in the Maltese Premier League and represented his country at major tournaments, including the Africa Cup of Nations.

Al Wefaq Sporting, Social & Cultural Club commonly referred to as Al Wefaq is a historic Libyan football club based in Sabratha. Founded in the late 1950s, the club has competed in the Libyan Premier League, Libya’s top division, and has a tradition of developing competitive teams in the national football landscape.

The Libyan Premier League remains one of North Africa’s respected competitions, featuring clubs from across the country and providing a platform for both local and international talent. Al Wefaq currently sits mid‑table, striving to improve its standings as the season progresses.
