Leone Stars right-back, Alex Bangura has made his Boro debut on Saturday in the defeat at Blackburn Rovers after his summer move from Dutch side SC Cambuur.
But in an end-to-end, open game, the Sierra Leone international struggled to make much of an impact before he was forced off in the 69th minute.
Sammie Szmodics’ double strike gave Blackburn a vital win as they marked the 5,000th league game in their history.
The midfielder scored in either half to keep Boro anchored to bottom spot with five defeats from six.
Middlesbrough signed the Sierra Leone international Alex Bangura from Dutch side SC Cambuur on a four-year deal.
The 24-year-old, who can play anywhere down the left side, scored five goals in 113 games for SC Cambuur and has Eredivisie experience.
