The Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association Emmanuel Conteh has disclosed that the association is set to hold its extraordinary later this month on the 23rd of December 2022 in Bo City Southern Sierra Leone.
Conteh stated that one of the reasons for the congress is to expunge the article in the constitution approved by the previous administration that made provision for a third term of office noting it has been condemned by the world athletics federation “the IAAF frowns at the third term stating it is not good for the discipline as an executive that yarn to create the effect we are going to expunge it from the constitution” he maintained
Emmanuel Conteh added that during the extraordinary congress they will be adapting the resolution to divide the northern region into two the Northeast and Northwest regions all will be having separate presidents “this resolution is in line to meet the changing needs in the country as now the northern region is divided into two and we too as an association can only create the change during the extraordinary congress so that each of this two region can have its president” he ascribed.
