The Captain of Bai Bureh Warriors FC, Mohamed Sorie Kanu has signed for East End Lions Football Club referring to the move as his dream come true.
“I have always yearned to play for EE Lions, and now that I’m here, I’m going to give my best for the club to win more trophies,” Kanu affirmed.
Bai Bureh Warriors FC, one of Sierra Leone’s premier league clubs founded in Port Loko, substantiated that Kanu’s transfer to East End Lions is esteemed at 45 Million Leones.
The club published an announcement saying, “Bai Bureh Warriors FC can confirm that Mohamed S. Kanu has completed his transfer to East End Lions FC for a fee of Le 35,000,000, along with a Le 10,000,000 signing bonus.”
Kanu went through a medical examination successfully and agreed to personal terms before concluding the switch.
Kanu’s signing with East End Lions was motivated by his impressive enactments in the country’s top-flight league and other competitions. His goal-scoring prowess and leadership qualities made him a sought-after talent. He appeared as the top scorer of the Clozet Creation 21st edition, netting seven goals, despite Lungi Rangers Football Club, for which he played, being eliminated in the Round of 16 of the non-division tournaments.
In a memorable moment, Kanu scored a late 90th-minute goal in March during the final of the One Nation Tournament organized by Leone Rock Metal Group. His goal secured a 1-0 win for the Northwest Region, making them the unbeaten champions of the maiden edition, with the match played at Bo Stadium in Southern Sierra Leone.
