Sierra Leone Premier League side Burreh Warriors’ Head Coach, Hassan Millar Sesay, has tendered his resignation, effective immediately.

The resignation letter, dated January 22, 2025, from Sesay to the Northwestern Region-based football club, left fans and supporters in shock.

Sesay’s resignation has sparked widespread controversy, particularly given the recent nature of his three-year contract, signed on August 14, 2024, at the Hajvic Entertainment Complex.

The timing of his departure has raised questions, especially as the club struggles in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League, sitting in 17th position with just two points—only ahead of Black Pool.

In his resignation letter, Sesay cited family issues as the primary reason for his departure, which he had previously taken a short leave to attend to in Freetown. The timing of his resignation, however, comes at a critical juncture for the team, as they fight to secure their position in the league.

As of now, the management of Bai Burreh Warriors is yet to issue an official statement regarding the resignation. Fans and the football community are left waiting for further developments, especially with the club’s challenging position in the league.
