Following the match between FC Kallon and Wilberforce Strikers held on Sunday, July 13th, 2025, Francis “Tortoise” Koroma, the goalkeeper for Wilberforce Strikers, is accused of brutally assaulting Bei Santigie Kamara, the Premier League media officer.
According to Mags Tribune Sports, eyewitnesses reported that the confrontation began when Bei Santigie was calmly engaging with a Wilberforce Strikers fan at the Approved School grounds.
The match had already created a charged atmosphere, and tensions were high among fans and officials. Santigie was reportedly trying to promote sportsmanship when the situation took a violent turn.
Francis Koroma, who was not participating in the match at the time, allegedly intervened aggressively. He confronted Santigie, accusing him of influencing refereeing decisions that favored one team and rigged the outcome of the match. The verbal exchange quickly escalated, culminating in Koroma physically striking Santigie in the head.
As of then, neither the Sierra Leone Premier League board nor Wilberforce Strikers has released an official statement regarding the incident.
