Bhantal Football Club has announced the appointment of John Dominic Konneh, former assistant coach of the Leone Stars, as the club’s new head coach, effective immediately.
The decision comes as part of the club’s effort to strengthen its leadership team and improve its performance in the upcoming fixtures of the Leone Rock Premier League.
Konneh, who has previously worked with the Leone Stars, notably brings valuable experience to the role and will lead Bhantal FC as it seeks to regain form following a challenging period.
Alongside Konneh’s appointment, the club has also welcomed Kanta Ibrahim Bangura and Mohamed T. Kamara to the technical team as part of the backroom staff. The new appointments are expected to provide a fresh perspective and bolster the club’s coaching staff.
The change in leadership follows the mutual parting of ways between Bhantal FC and its former head coach, Ibrahim Sillah. The decision was made after a careful evaluation of the team’s recent performance, with the club acknowledging that results had not met expectations.
In a statement released by the club, Bhantal FC expressed its gratitude to Coach Sillah for his dedication and hard work during his tenure but emphasized that a change was necessary for the club’s future progress.
“The decision to part ways with Coach Sillah was not made lightly. We appreciate the efforts he made in his time with us and wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” the statement read. “However, after evaluating recent performances, the management team felt that a new direction was needed for the club’s growth.”
The club’s management remains focused on its long-term vision and is determined to make the necessary adjustments to enhance the team’s performance moving forward. Bhantal FC also reaffirmed its commitment to its fans, thanking them for their unwavering support and pledging to keep them informed of any future developments.
Bhantal FC’s new head coach, John Dominic Konneh, and his technical staff will now turn their attention to the team’s upcoming matches, with hopes of improving the club’s position in the league standings.
