President Julius Madda Bio has congratulated the Sierra Leone Women’s National Cricket Team otherwise known as Ladies Patriots, for defeating Ghana in the 2023 invitational Women’s T201 Tournament.

In his reaction to the win, President Julius Maada Bio Twitted: “Congratulations to the #Sierra Leone Women’s National Cricket Team(popularly known as Ladies Patriots)and the Sierra Leone Cricket Association(@crickesllttd) for their win against their opponent Ghana in the 2023 Nigeria invitational Women’s T201 Tournament(@NigeriaWY201) in Lagos Nigeria.

All round sports developments is my administration’s resolve and we shall continue to do more to support the sector. I wish you a Successful # NigeriaWT20i Tournament Ladies Patriot.”

The ladies Patriots of Sierra Leone defeated Ghana by 7 wickets in their second game at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

Ghana scored 19 runs with a strike rate of 55.88. However, the ladies patriots replied with 68 runs for the loss of 3 in 12.2 overs.

Sierra Leone will take on the defending champion Rwanda today in the morning hour as Nigeria currently leads the log followed by Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Ghana and Cameroon

Sierra Leone Cricket Association recently appointed Fatmata Parkinson as Captain of the Women’s Patriot in the Nigeria WT201 Invitational series.

The invitational tournament is commenced on March 26-April 3 at the Tafawa Belewa square Oval in Lagos.

Five Countries are invited to participate in the Tournament. The participating countries are Cameroon, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.
