The newly elected Chairman of the Kono District Football Association (KDFA), Abu Mansaray, has rolled out a new developmental project for the football sector in the district.

He has initiated several projects aimed at improving the quality of football in Kono District ranging from the organization of tournaments for all types of football players in the district which may help them in not only boosting their skills but developing them for a greater prospect in the game.

He organized the under-12 and under-14 competitions in the District, and the league has attracted 32 teams that are currently playing.

The ongoing Under 12 and 14 leagues in Kono District provide a platform for young, talented footballers to showcase their talents in front of their managers and fans, and the leagues have already captured a few players from various clubs that their managers can invest in their careers.

Many football fans and stakeholders in the district have referred to his developmental strive as a very timely one because football has become one of the envious and fastest growing sectors in the country. It was also recorded that, there have been several challenges leading to the subsequent death of football in the district but with his intervention, there has been a revitalizing spirit in the game.

He decided to promote peace and provide hope for the future through his initiatives as he invests in football making it the channel.
