On September 4, 2024, former Chairman of the Tonkolili District Football Association, Mohamed Sorie Jalloh, donated footballs and a monetary contribution to four female football clubs in Tonkolili District. The donation ceremony, held in Magburaka, was attended by key football stakeholders and community members.

The clubs that benefited from the donation include Tonkolili Queens, Central Queens, Hydro Queens, Rowalla Queens, and Sabereh Queens. Jalloh, currently serving as an Executive Committee Officer of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), stated that the gesture was aimed at boosting grassroots football development in the district and Sierra Leone at large.

“This donation is meant to provide the young female athletes with the resources they need to enhance their skills and compete at higher levels,” Jalloh said, highlighting his commitment to fostering the growth of women’s football in the country.

Football administrators across the district have lauded Jalloh’s contributions, describing the support as crucial for nurturing local talent. Abdul Pascal Gbla, the current Chairman of the Tonkolili District Football Association, praised the former chairman for his continuous efforts, calling the donation timely and essential for the future of football in Sierra Leone.
