FC Kallon head coach, Mohamed Kallon, has remained optimistic about his team’s progress despite a 2-0 loss to Remo FC in their opening match of the Coal City Tournament.
In a candid Facebook post, Kallon acknowledged the gulf in preparedness between his side and their Nigerian opponents, who are currently gearing up for CAF competition. However, he expressed confidence in FC Kallon’s long-term potential.
“We’ve learnt valuable lessons from this match,” Kallon stated. “While the intensity and quality of Nigerian football are evident, we believe we are on the right track to building a competitive team capable of challenging the best in Africa.”
FC Kallon will look to bounce back today as they face Rangers FC at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium. The tournament, which runs until August 11th, features eight teams vying for the title.
